Hm. To be honest, over the past few years my mom's side of the family has been drifting farther and farther and apart, and a lot of them have stopped speaking to each other too. They get together very rarely and there's ALWAYS a fight when they do.
So I guess even though I can't completely understand, I can sort of sympathize.
